The 25,000-home association has announced that current deputy chief executive Dean will take over the top job on July 1, when current boss Matt Harrison steps down.

Dean, who is also executive director of people, culture and business improvement, has worked for the Manchester-based services provider for more than 17 years in various roles.

In recent years, Dean has been responsible for driving cultural change, improving service delivery and building brand engagement with the group.

Great Places aims to build between 9,000 homes between 2020 and 2030. A spokesperson said earlier this month that it had completed 2,134 homes and that approximately 2,000 homes remained. Even more deliveries are expected in the final years of the ten-year program.

The association last month secured £284 million in sustainability-related debt financing from three banks, which it will use to build new homes and improve existing stock.
